The SuperFooty Podcast - Round 3

ON the day ASADA announced it would not appeal the AFL’s Anti-Doping Tribunal decision over the Essendon supplements scandal, the SuperFooty podcast panel examines the latest developments.

Herald Sun journalist Mick Warner believes there may be more to play out in the saga.

“So it’s not over?” host Anthony Hudson asked.

“No way,” Mick said.

The boys take a look at the staggering injury toll from the opening rounds and ask: “Are we asking too much of the players?”

“They are going to ask for their 15 per cent payrise and they bloody well deserve it,” one panel member declares.

Of course, there’s plenty of discussion about the weekend’s Round 3 matches.

Port Adelaide beat North but Sammy is worried. Are they his Freo of 2015? Is he ready to write them off?

Carlton continues to be a massive talking point, and the boys debate the coach’s fate and whether Mick is the problem with the struggling Blues.

Geelong was gutsy but Sammy’s certainly not convinced on the Cats after one win.

“They have fallen, probably quicker and harder, than I thought they were going to this year,” he said of Chris Scott’s team.

However the Lions could be the biggest worry in the competition, with the boys all expressing concern for Justin Leppitsch’s men who are winless after three rounds.

But there’s no concern for the unbeaten Sydney Swans or Fremantle, with the panel looking ahead to this week’s blockbuster at Subiaco.
